About

The Braemar Hill Lookout is a short hike on the mountain range of Hong Kong Island. Known for it's easy difficulty and exceptional views, it's a favourite amongst locals and my go-to recommendation for anyone who wants to get a glismpe of what Hong Kong looks like from up top.

Cost

Free! Enjoy stunning views from the lookout without spending a single dollar.

Accessibility

Super accessible, there are multiple ways to get to the lookout point, but I recommend taking the minibus from Tin Hau to Braemar Hill. Other alternatives are the 85 bus or the 25A.

Uniqueness

Unlike many hikes in Hong Kong, Braemar's Hill is very accessible and easy, as it's well paved and shorter than most hikes. Nevertheless, you can see an amazing view of the Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon side. As a result, it's high on my recommendation list!

My Experience

Braemar Hill Peak offers one of the best views of Hong Kong Island! As an easy hike, it’s a spot I frequently visit and highly recommend. Aim to go during sunset on a clear day for breathtaking views from the lookout point. There are several ways to reach the peak, but I usually start at the Braemar Hill Bus Terminus. You can take a minibus from Causeway Bay or catch the 85 or 25A buses. From the terminus, it's a short walk to Braemar Hill Peak. The path to the lookout point takes about 30 minutes and is quite manageable. Most of the trail is well-paved, but be sure to follow the signs that says to Jardine's Lookout. Check the photos I've attached in case you need guidance! If you're interested in exploring more, there are alternative trails available. One popular option is the Red Incense Burner Summit, which is a close alternative worth considering!
