Cost

A great price for the amount of food you are getting! You can expect to spend around $40 to $70 HKD depending on how much you are planning to eat.

Accessibility

While Lau Ming Kee has many branches across Hong Kong, my personal favorite is the Shang Huan location. It's incredibly convenient: just take the subway to Sheung Huan Station, and you'll find it right near the exit.

Uniqueness

One thing I love about Lau Ming Kee is the unlimited refills on their soy milk. It’s the perfect companion to another of their standout items: their incredible pan-fried buns, which are truly hard to find anywhere else in Hong Kong.

My Experience

During my time in Hong Kong, Lau Ming Kee has remained one of my favorite comfort foods. I was first introduced to this restaurant by a local church group that often held their gatherings there. My initial visit made a lasting impression, prompting me to return frequently. One highlight is their free refill soy milk, which is simply amazing. The noodle selection is fantastic, but my favorite is the Scallion Oil Noodles. I also enjoy the Zha Jiang Mian, which is another excellent choice. However, the undisputed star of the menu for me is the Signature Pan-Fried Bun. While it comes in a combo set, I can never resist ordering it à la carte because one is just never enough! I highly recommend it to everyone who visits. If you're interested in trying both the noodles and the bun, I recommend opting for their combo meal. For $54 HKD, it offers both items, a relatively affordable price in Hong Kong. If one bun isn't enough, you can also order them à la carte in quantities from 1 to 6 pieces. Overall, if you're looking for a quick, cheap, and super tasty meal, this is the place to go.
