Unlike many of the other destinations where I explored as a student, Hong Kong has been my first home away from home. Having worked nearly two years in the city, I've had more than enough time to explore the city and its surroundings. One of the best parts about Hong Kong is that it's hidden attractions are often just a short ride away, and hence anyone looking to explore some of the city's best kept secrets can do so with ease. In this space, you can discover some of those secrets, and incorporate them into your own itinerary.

Hong Kong Island

Located in the far right corner of Hong Kong Island, Cape D'Aguilar offers some of the most stunning sea views on Hong Kong Island. The thunderous waves crashing against the rocks create beautiful scenes, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers seeking a peaceful escape from the bustling city.

BRAEMAR HILL

Hong Kong Island

The Braemar Hill Lookout is a short hike on the mountain range of Hong Kong Island. Known for it's easy difficulty and exceptional views, it's a favourite amongst locals and my go-to recommendation for anyone who wants to get a glismpe of what Hong Kong looks like from up top.

WEST KOWLOON

Kowloon

One of the newest hotspots in Hong Kong, West Kowloon has become a focal point for development by the Hong Kong government, hoping to transform the area into the hub for art and history in Hong Kong. Whether you're there to explore contemporary art at the M+ Museum, delve into history at the Hong Kong Museum, or simply enjoy a stunning sunset, West Kowloon has plenty to offer and shouldn't be missed!
